This soap is a celebration of a sacred plant revered by Africans for generations: Calendula. Calendula is a flowering plant with bright orange-yellow petals. It was used in ancient Egypt as a beautifying agent, and also by the Yoruba as a way to connect with Goddess Oshun, goddess of beauty, sweetness and joy. 

Our Calendula Soap contains not only calendula petals, but also the infused calendula oil which contains more powerful nutrients. This soap is scented with lovely aromas of fresh citrus, floral jasmine, woody sandalwood and warm spices.  

Calendula is an ancient plant that has been used in traditional medicine for generations. It is also one of Oshun’s symbols. This plant has been shown to have *anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, wound healing and antioxidant effects.  It also contains beneficial nutrients including carotenoids. 

Sunflower is another symbol of Goddess Oshun. Sunflower oil comes from the seeds of this plant. Studies on sunflower oil have shown that it can *preserve the outermost layer of skin, and improve hydration. 

Sweet Orange Essential Oil is a bright-smelling essential oil derived from oranges. It has been shown to *improve the skin condition of acne, moderate the production of excess oil in skin, and decrease inflammation.
